Trimble HoloLens Hardhat Improves Teamwork
Blog Post
Maintaining clear communications and positive working relationships between the office and on-site construction crews can be challenging. Engineers and architects may have difficulty conveying the intent of designs or layouts. Workers onsite may encounter unforeseen obstacles or considerations not taken into account during the design phase. This has been a perennial problem in the construction business and, to a degree, it’s the nature of the beast. Even so, one way to facilitate information exchange is to make sure that everyone is looking at the same model and the site in its current state.
Trimble’s HoloLens Hardhat makes this possible. Trimble has combined its 3-D modelling software with Microsoft’s HoloLens mixed reality eyewear. This enables all team members to view the model overlaid onto the the actual site environment. That way, everyone can see for themselves the situation that needs to be discussed. Having everyone on the same page quickly resolves misunderstandings and gives everyone a clear, visual grasp of the status onsite.
